What will you do?

We are looking for a CAD Designer who will be responsible for translating construction documents into functional shop drawings by using advanced detailing techniques.

What will be your responsibilities?

You will….

  • Read, interpret, and analyze design drawings to translate into shop drawings by applying standard design principles and theories.
  • Work with the sales and project management teams to ensure drawings are accurate and bringing forward issues/concerns to the team’s attention for clarification and/or resolution, all while ensuring deadlines are achieved.
  • Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with construction and product codes and company policies and procedures for design safety factors.
  • Interpret hardware templates to prepare detailed drawings for manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company’s product lines and functionalities to recommend products that meet the design intent.
  • Determine all production components required for the shop drawings are captured and comply with industry standards and tolerance.

What will you bring to the Team?

  • Two (2) to five (5) years of drafting experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting designer drawings and specifications.
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD and working knowledge of MS Office and 3D modeling programs; experience with Revit is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in modeling, drafting techniques, standards and 3D modeling coupled with strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • A proven team player that believes all team members contribute to the success of the project.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal) to build effective and long-lasting relationships with clients, team members and contractors.
  • Excellent attention to quality, accuracy, and details.
