PC350 Surface Applied Mullion Application Enhancements

Surface applied mullions are increasingly being used as an expressive architectural element within the interior design landscape. Our new surface applied mullion application engineering is a direct response to this current office trend. Our technological enhancements give designers the ability to create unique compositions and patterns on glass surfaces, which can reflect the specific brand and culture of any company.

PC350 surface applied mullions are now offered in two discrete widths to satisfy different aesthetic needs. The 1″ (25mm) mullion retains a refined minimal presence, while the 2″ (51mm) mullion provides a more pronounced visual expression.

Our surface applied mullions are unique due to their ability to be applied to glass wall partitions as well as framed glass doors.  They can be applied on installation or retrofitted to existing projects. Our new surface applied mullions can be easily used in more bespoke applications such as curved glass partitions.

To complement these existing capabilities, two new 90-degree corner applications have been developed for the surface applied mullion program. A new vertical mullion corner hides 90-degree glass seams and acts as a transition between horizontal mullions. Additionally, a new horizontal mitred mullion corner creates a seamless wrap around aesthetic, emulating top and bottom framing elements. Both 90-degree corner applications are offered in 1” (25mm) and 2″ (51mm) widths.

To take further advantage of surface applied mullions design flexibility, PC350 has developed a splicing kit, allowing clients to install inline mullions that can span uninterrupted beyond the typical 10-foot length. This capability further extends the compositions and patterns that can be specified.

• Mitred corner mullions provide a clean, seamless look to the office front. The mitred joint, where two mullions meet at an angle, creates a smooth transition that is clean and purposeful.
• Vertical corner mullions provide a sleek, modern look to the office interior – they create a seamless transition between glass panels enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the office space.
• The internal trim applied to the inside of the corner detail serves a dual purpose: it enhances the overall aesthetic by providing a polished finish both internally and externally.
• Additionally, this distinctive detail can be effectively utilized in a three-way application, resulting in a clean and refined appearance as shown above in the final image.
• This construction method allows for installation in new and existing PC350 glass solutions, including Elite, Sliding, Barn and Vista Telescopic Solutions.
• Mullions profiles are available for straight, curved, single glass and double glass wall solutions.
